An American in Bodh Gaya (2015) woodwind quartet
for the Infinities Ensemble

15:30 minutes

An expansion of Avalokiteshvara's Taxi, with the same modernization of the old Buddhist characters: Manjushri, who wields a sword to cut through delusion mows the lawn; Mahakasyapa, who awakened when Buddha silently held up a flower becomes a florist; and Avalokiteshvara, taking the ferry boat across the river drives a taxi. Each is a whimsical depiction of the spiritual journey...

1. Manjushri mows the lawn

2. Mahakasyapa arranges the flowers

3. Avalokiteshvara's Taxi
