Written with thanks for Katie Lyons-Pingree, my favorite harpist.
As there hasn't been a performance (yet!), here's a computer demo:
a hole in a flute (2009)
mixed choir, harp and hand percussion
based on the poetry of Hafiz
in translations of Daniel Ladinsky
Hafiz was a Persian mystical poet who lived in the 14th century. His ecstatic poetry describes his relation to the Divine in very personal, sometimes erotic, always joyful terms.
